Community Interpreting II -  English/Spanish

Further interpreter ethics. Advanced terminology for community situations. Guided practice sessions with handouts. Covers more advanced terminology use in the following fields: health care, social services, education, special education, elder care and welfare programs, dental health, mental health, developmental disabilities and substance abuse.

Coffee, tea and water will be provided. You can bring a sack lunch or eat fast food around hotel area.

Handouts will be provided. Please bring a 3-ring binder, note paper and pens or a laptop computer.
 

Cost:  $150.00 (up to 14 days before class)  $175 for registration up to 5 days before class. No walk ins.

Cancellation clause: No refunds for no-shows, except for proven emergencies. Other refunds will be considered case by case. Notes:  This is a stand-alone course, taught in person.  Arrangements can be made for practice exercises to be done in other languages if there are enough participants (minimum of 10) in a given language. 

There is no testing for this course. It is offered so that the student’s transition to the real world can be made easier.
